The 25-year-old has been on Arsenal’s radar for several months, Arsene Wenger last month believed to have instructed chief French scout Gilles Grimandi to compile a dossier after he and chief scout Steve Rowley identified the France international as a potential summer signing for the club.
Although it is widely believed he will leave Montpellier this summer, Giroud has revealed he is yet to decide on whether to seek a move or stay in France for another year and see out his contract.
However, he has hinted that his future is away from the Ligue 1 club.
“I do not know yet what I’ll do next season, if I leave or stay in Montpellier,” he told Telefoot.
“But English clubs make me dream, this championship makes me dream.
“But I am not obsessed with England! And money is not a motivation in my career.
“I make strategic choices of a sporting point of view.”
