The Portuguese coach has renewed his contract with Real Madrid until 2016.

Real Madrid have confirmed that Jose Mourinho has extended his contract a further two years. His original contract ended in June 2014 and after winning the La Liga title off Barcelona this season, his next objective will be to snatch the Champions League off Chelsea.

This comes as a surprise following the rumours that were circulating around Madrid that he was threatening to leave. He said, according to Spanish newspaper MARCA that it was “The perfect challenge” for him and that now he is planning to start to change the youth system, medical centre and other background facilities.

The ex-inter boss said that he felt “most Madrid staff are happy” with his decision and he will do his best, without obsession, to bring the Champion’s League back to Real.

There is still a big chance he might leave before his contract finishes, but in the mean time we will have to wait before his return to the premier league. He said he still wants to return to Chelsea but Roberto DiMatteo’s triumph in Europe this season might mean he will have to wait for Roberto to leave.
