Giroud ready to sign for Arsenal, Real Madrid prepare Modric bid and Porto deny Hulk offers.
Porto – the Portuguese champions are insisting that there has been no offers for Brazilian striker. The Samba star has been heavily linked with a move away from Estadio do Dragao for some time, but a hefty price tag has left interested parties reluctant to dig deep.
Paris St-Germain and Chelsea are reportedly the front runners for his signature, however Hulk has claimed his preference to Champions League winners Chelsea. But both clubs are owned by billionaires, so have the funds to make things happen.
Giroud to Arsenal
Montpellier striker Olivier Giroud has claimed he “cannot wait to sign for Arsenal”.
The deal is expected to be completed this week with the French striker knocked out of Euro 2012 by defending champions Spain earlier this week.
The Gunners made their move for Giroud a few weeks ago but they have had to wait for the player to complete his international commitments before finalising a deal worth around £12million.
Giroud scored 21 goals in 36 games last season, with 70 of his 135 shots on target.
Real want Modric
Luka Modric says he is ready to leave Tottenham with Real Madrid his preferred destination.
Both Manchester United and Paris St-Germain have been chasing Modric in the past, but it seems the Croatian has set his heart on working for Jose Mourinho at the La Liga champions.
Modric will tell managerless Spurs next week he wants to quit the club. The diminutive playmaker, 26, wanted to leave the club last summer amid interest from Chelsea.
Now, with the chance to earn more money elsewhere together with his desire to play Champions League football he has decided it’s time to quit White Hart Lane.
Real Madrid are prepared to pay Tottenham £30million for Luka Modric after coach Jose Mourinho has told the club to press ahead with an offer.
