The American forward, who rejected a new contract is nearing a move to the Kop.

Andy Carroll’s future is hanging in the balance after Liverpool boss Brendan Rogers expressed his opinions of the England international, and is looking to offload the Striker permanently.
Dempsey has been linked with Liverpool for 12 months and Brendan Roger’s side have now stepped up their interest. Rodger’s made it privately clear that he wanted to bring the American to Merseyside when he joined Liverpool last month.
Fulham stated that they would settle for the £5 million fee, despite declaring their valuation of £9 million, but the combination of his age (29) and now that he is entering the final year of his contract means they would settle for the lesser deal.
Recent reports suggest that Liverpool are yet to make a formal offer for the USA international, and are waiting on Andy Carroll’s future to resolve before making any kind of formal bid.
Liverpool rejected a bid from Newcastle on Sunday night to re-sign the striker on a season long loan to take him back to St James’ park.
But Kop boss Roger’s is willing to listen to any offers of around £15m, as he is still looking to offload the club’s record signing on a permanent basis.
