Manchester United have reportedly sent scouts to watch Celtic defensive midfielder Victor Wanyama this evening. The SPL champions take on HJK Helsinki in a Champions League qualifier at Parkhead and scouts from Old Trafford are expected to be at the game.

United have had Wanyama watched in Celtic’s recent games with Norwich City and Inter Milan so this wouldn’t be the first time.

Wanyama isextremely keen on a move to the Premier League it is believed, after spending the end of last season playing in the back four instead of in his preferred role of defensive midfield.

Celtic signed Wanyama last summer from Belgian side Beerschot for £900,000 but after a successful first season in Scotland he is now valued at £7million.

Arsenal and QPR have also shown some interest in the Kenya international and the Gunners are expected to have a scout at tonight’s game.
