Arsenal are reportedly having an extremely close look at 24-year-old striker as a replacement for Robin van Persie, according to numerous reports. The Daily Mail claims that the Gunners have already watched Kevin Mirallas (Belgium international) a couple of times, he currently plays for Greek side Olympiacos, and will be available for purchase around £6.4million.
The 24-year-old has spent the last two years at the Greek side, but has scored a very impressive 34 goals in 52 league games, which is fantastic. The Gunners do however, face stiff competition from inside and outside the Premier League, which will make it harder to complete a deal for the player. Liverpool are already thought to have scouted the 24-year-old while Russian outfit CSKA Moscow had an offer of around £5m turned down earlier this year.
The 24-year-old player is more than capable of playing as a winger or a more orthodox striker, a position in which he has excelled in Greece. Last season Mirallas not only finished as the top scorer in the Greek top flight, but was also named as the Greek league’s player of the season.
Liverpool have had Mirallas watched on a number of occasions, though that was in the Kenny Dalglish era, while Russian side CSKA Moscow saw a £5million bid turned down earlier this year.
