Manchester United close on Van Persie, Liverpool want Sahin and Modric is in Spain to finalise deal.
The Reds are confident they have fought off interest from both Tottenham and Arsenal, amongst others, to sign Sahin.
The former Borussia Dortmund man sought advice from former Liverpool favourite Xabi Alonso before informing Brendan Rodgers of his desire to move to Anfield, but it is not just conversations that the two share.
Sahin, like Alonso, is a midfielder of class and subtlety, a user of the ball who can launch attacks from deep with accurate diagonals, and finish them with a silky swish of his right boot. If he can rediscover some rhythm after a solitary, frustrating season in Spain, he would appear to fit Rodgers’ Reds blueprint perfectly.
Sahin made just ten appearances for Real last season, having joined on a free transfer following the expiry of his Dortmund contract last summer.
The Turk signed a six-year contract at the Bernabeu, but his season was delayed by a knee injury, with his debut coming as a second-half substitute in a 7-1 thrashing of Osasuna in November.
Sahin replaced Sami Khedira that evening, but the German international’s form would prove obstructive to his attempts to establish himself in Mourinho’s plans. He would manage just 126 minutes of La Liga action as Real won their first league title in four years.
LUKA Modric will fly to Spain today to finalise a deal with Real Madrid.
The Tottenham midfielder has allegedly signed for £23.6million and is set to fly to the Spanish capital for a medical.
Real Madrid are also set to pay a further £3.9million in add-ons taking the final transfer fee to £27million, according to Sky Sports.
The bid is thought to be a compromise between the two teams who have wrangled over a final transfer fee for days.
Luka Modric has not played for Tottenham for two months and has not had a positive pre-season.
But this has not diverted the Spanish club who were have been keen to sign him since he voiced his desire to leave White Hart Lane.
Arsenal have agreed terms to sell their captain Robin van Persie to Manchester United, the two Premier League rivals said on their websites on Wednesday.
The Dutch striker, voted the league’s player of the year last season, will travel to Manchester on Thursday to discuss personal terms and complete a medical ahead of the proposed move to Old Trafford.
No financial details were immediately available from the clubs. Media reports said United would pay 24 million pounds for Van Persie who is poised to sign a four-year contract with them.
The 29-year-old, who had also attracted interest from the Premier League champions Manchester City and Juventus, said last month he would not extend his contract at Arsenal. He had one year left on his deal after eight years with the club.
Van Persie scored 37 goals last season as Arsenal finished third in the league and reached the last 16 of the Champions League. But the club have not won a trophy since the 2005 FA Cup final defeat of United.
At Old Trafford Van Persie would link up with England striker Wayne Rooney as Alex Ferguson’s team try to take the title back from their city rivals. United have made only one major signing since the end of last season, Japan midfielder Shinji Kagawa joining from German champions Borussia Dortmund.
