The agent of Liverpool number 1 keeper Pepe Reina claims that the Spaniard has no desire to leave Anfield.
Reina has taken some flack over his early-season performances for the Reds and it was reported earlier this week that he has until January to convince manager Brendan Rodgers not to go out into the transfer market for another keeper.
“He is not having an easy time,” said Manuel Garcia Quilon.
“The team has not started the season well and liability is falling on him but this will end when he returns to form. He has four years to run on his contract and rumours of leaving Liverpool are just that — rumours.”
Rodgers is said to be extremely keen on going back to his old club Swansea for keeper Michel Vormhaving decided that Reina’s understudies Alexander Doni and Brad Jones aren’t providing adequate competition for places.
Reina moved from Villareal in 2005 and has almost 300 Liverpool appearances to his name. He signed a new six-year contract with the club in 2010.
