Chelsea are believed to be heavily considering their forward options in the January transfer window. The Stamford Bridge side have been linked with Atletico Madrid striker Falcao, with a £45m bid rumoured to be forthcoming as soon as the window opens.
Chelsea striker Fernando Torres is currently Roberto Di Matteo’s main option up front, that is until Danny Sturridge returns from injury, and the Blues are thought to be weighing up the decision to strengthen up heavily in January.
Tottenham have more options, and summer signing Emmanuel Adebayor is yet to start for Spurs, but Andre Villas-Boas may find the opportunity to sign Huntelaar to good to pass up.
The Dutchman is available on a free transfer next summer, assuming he does not sign a new Schalke contract, but the German side could choose to sell him in January and recoup a fee for the international striker.
