The agent of Arsenal defender Johan Djourou says the 25-year-old could be set for a loan move in January.
The Switzerland international has yet to figure in the Premier League this season and was linked during the summer with a move to Napoli. Djourou insisted in June that he was ready to fight for his place in the Arsenal side despite agent Flavio Ferraria effectively hoisting the ‘for sale’ sign by suggesting that Napoli had put in an £8million bid for him and Ferraria has been at it again telling Naples radio station Crc that there is the chance of loan deal when the transfer window reopens in the new year.
“At the moment there is no negotiation with Napoli,” Ferraria admitted.
“In football anything is possible, but there has been no contact with them for now.
“I agree that Djourou would be a useful addition for Napoli, but only in January when we find out whether Arsenal want to keep him or send him out on loan.
“Johan is a professional and so far this season he has played just two games in the League Cup. He wants to play more.
“He is fit, but things can go like this sometimes. Maybe in a few weeks Djourou will be a regular for Arsenal.”
