Macheda ready to leave Manchester United

Manchester United striker Federico Macheda could be on his way out of the club in January, according to his agent. Macheda last played for United on Boxing Day 2011 and he saw a loan spell at QPR end early when he returned to Manchester for treatment on an ankle injury having played just three games for the Loftus Road side.

However, the presence of so many top strikers at the club has seen Macheda fall further and further down the pecking order and first-team opportunities appear to have dried up.

“Manchester United has some phenomenal forward players forward and carving out a space in the side is really difficult for Federico,” Giovanni Bia told Itasportspress in Italy.

“It is not true that is going through a period of fog as they write in England. He wants to play and if he cannot do that in January we will try to find an alternative solution. I’ll talk to Sir Alex Ferguson in the coming days . ”

Macheda has scored four goals in 19 Premier League games for United but failed to score during his short loan spell at QPR or at Sampdoria where he had a 14-game loan spell in 2011.
