Serie A side Fiorentina are being heavily linked with Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez.
Numerous reports from Italy claim the 24-year-old Mexico international is a target for the Viola as they are searching for a strike partner for Stevan Jovetic. Dimitar Berbatov was targeted just before the transfer window closed at the end of August but the Bulgarian instead moved to Fulham leaving Fiorentina furious as they were extremely close to signing him.
Now, Eurosport in Italy claim the Italian club could make a January move for ‘Chicarito’ possibly in a loan deal while the Daily Star has made claims that he could be on his way to Italy next summer in an £8million permanent move and that Fiorentina would match his reported wages at Old Trafford of £80,000 a week.
After a spectacular first season at United, Hernandez endured a difficult second term and has fallen down the pecking order with the emergence of Danny Welbeck and the signing of Robin van Persie. Recently he said: “My challenge is to play and win titles with Manchester United” although he has started only one Premier League game so far this season.
