Premier League Giants Manchester United are said to be one of a number of clubs tracking Stoke City defender Ryan Shawcross.

The 25-year-old was called up to the England squad for the recent World Cup games with San Marino and Poland and is also being watched by Chelsea and Spurs, according to Sky Sports.

Shawcross began his career at Old Trafford but moved to Stoke in a £1million deal in January 2008 following a successful loan spell at the Britannia Stadium, He has since made over 200 appearances for the Potters.

A series of solid performances has seen interest heighten in the centre-back who has entered the final 18 months of his contract with the club although Stoke would fight any attempt to make them part with one of their star players.
