Arsenal are better off without Van Persie

Norwich City defender Russell Martin believes that Arsenal have improved since the departure of the Dutchman.

Santi Cazorla has taken the spotlight at Arsenal since Robin Van Persie’s move to Manchester United in the summer. And the Spaniard has been in sparkling form since his arrival from Malaga.

But the Norwich City defender believes Arsene Wenger’s investment in three fantastic players is worth the one leaving.

“They got rid of a fantastic player but brought in another three or four fantastic players to replace him,” Martin told The Sun.

“I know it sounds strange but I think that has made them a much stronger team. They were a great team with him and they are still a great team without him.

“But the difference is that instead of having three or four match winners, now they have nine or 10.”

I agree but why then are they struggling this season? I think they will get back up there but I don’t think they will qualify for CL this year. Said that last year though!
