Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has made claims about his desire for Theo Walcott to sign a new deal very soon, ahead of rumours claimingthat Liverpool and Italian giants Juventus are readying bids for the January transfer window.

Wenger revealed that talks with the 23-year, who is out of contract in the summer, are still ongoing but that there are no new developments.

“They [talks] are going on, but there is no news about that,” the Arsenal chief said.

“My determination has always been the same, to extend his contract. That other clubs are interested or not, the determination is the same.”

The winger will not feature for the Gunners in tomorrow’s Champions League clash at home to Schalke as he is still recovering from a chest injury suffered while playing for England against.

Fellow Southampton graduate Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is also missing, as is defender Kieran Gibbs, but Walcott could be in line for a return for the visit of bottom club QPR on Saturday.

Wenger added: “The good news is that Theo had his first run today and is looking quite well, so he should be back shortly.”

we would have been end up draw with westham if he were not there. I don’t know why AW is too adamant to accept any idea which comes out of others. Walcot signed as a striker and still didn’t try him on his post. what does it means? what is a season Wenger stuck him on wing? if he walcot reach the acme of his forced post (winger) wenger could have been accepted but the thing is on the contrary. even the new comer Ox can do more than Walcot does. look how Walcot accomplished the striker duty while playing for England against Crotia. I think Wenger is angry for his trial didn’t work and refused to put Walcot on his natural place.
