Manchester United star winger Nani, who was reported earlier this week to have turned down a new offer from United. The Daily Telegraph claims the Portugal international is set to leave Old Trafford at the end of the season while the Daily Star speculates that United will demand around £20million for a player who is under contract at the club until 2014.
During the summer Nani turned down a new deal said to be worth £130,000 a week while a proposed move to Zenit St Petersburg early last month was scuppered with the Russian side claiming he had demanded £140-160,000 a week in wages.
Nani has previously been linked with interest from AC Milan in Italy, though that the Rossoneriare though unlikely to be interested in splashing out £20million. Juventus are also interested though they, too, may find his wage demands a problem. Zenit are no longer interested having spent £70million on Hulk and Axel Witsel.
Meanwhile, the Daily Star claims United are lining up Porto winger James Rodriguez as Nani’s replacement. United were extensively linked with Rodriguez during the summer and it was claimed in Portugal that they had a bid of £21million turned down by the Portugese champions.
The Star claims United will make a £20million bid but that sounds unlikely given the fact that a higher bid has already been rejected. Porto inserted a £38million release clause for Rodriguez during the summer of 2011 and want closer to that amount before parting with the 21-year-old.
