The Gunners are reportedly ready to make a bid for Montepellier defender Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa. This comes after a report made by the Mirror.
It is believed that the Montpellier centre-back has already agreed a £6.7million move, which would take him to Newcastle United with a deal expected to be completed very early this week. However, the Mirror has madeclaims which suggest that Arsenal could possibly interfere with a bid which could see Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa snub Newcastle and make the move to the Emirates.
Yanga-Mbiwa, who is currently 23, is very highly rated in France and can play not only as a centre back but can also operate as a holding midfielder.
The Gunners have been scouting Yanga-Mbiwa for nearly a year, with numerous rumours claiming that there is interest from AC Milan and Barcelona, however with interest from the two clubs seemingly gone, Arsenal are ready to battle Newcastle United for his signature.
